Pesticides – it seems like you will find them used everywhere, whether it is to protect crops, keep rodents out of homes or prevent weed growth. In the past, some types of pesticides were used that proved very harmful to humans, but in recent years pesticides have been developed that are mostly harmless to humans and still do a very good job. Still, it is important that you minimize exposure since they usually contain potent chemicals.

Storage of pesticides should be done in a cabinet that children can’t access. The bottles should be clearly labeled so as to avoid any mistakes or confusion. Usually you will find instructions on storage and health effects. If you are applying pesticides, don’t do so on a windy day, since you risk spreading the pesticides into your neighbor’s yard. You might be wearing a mask and being careful to minimize your exposure, but your neighbor will be totally unaware.
